Tokudo: Entering Priest Training

Join us for a sacred and historic milestone as we host the Tokudo (Priest Ordination) Ceremony for Chuck Kaczmarsky and Mamiko Kobayashi. In this traditional Nichiren Shu ritual, the ordinand will shave their head, take their sacred vows, and officially receive the monastic robes and bowls required to enter the priesthood. This beautiful ceremony marks a lifelong commitment to practicing and spreading the teachings of the Lotus Sutra for the peace and well-being of all living beings. This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to witness and celebrate this auspicious spiritual journey.
