Dear Parents/Carers/Education Staff

Welcome to our workshop on Toileting. This practical workshop, led by the Paediatric Occupational Therapy team, is designed for parents and carers who want clear, evidence-based strategies to support their child’s toileting journey. Toilet training can feel overwhelming, but with the right guidance and support, it can become a positive and successful milestone for your child. We will cover the three essential steps: readiness, preparation, and implementation. You will learn how to identify when your child is ready, set up the environment for success, and use strategies such as visual supports, modelling, and positive reinforcement. We will also share practical tips for handling setbacks, supporting independence, and celebrating progress along the way. This interactive session will give you the confidence and tools to make toilet training a more manageable and even enjoyable experience for both you and your child.
