Blue Moon Marquee is a roots ensemble led by A.W. Cardinal (vocals/guitar) and Jasmine Colette, aka Badlands Jass (vocals/bass/drums), whose original music moves through blues, jazz, swing, country, folk, jump jive, and Indigenous soul. Drawing on the traditions of artists from Howlin’ Wolf and Memphis Minnie to Django Reinhardt and Louis Prima, they weave these influences with Indigenous storytelling, poetic lyricism, and their own contemporary perspective. Their album Scream, Holler & Howl earned the 2024 JUNO Award for Blues Album of the Year, followed by another nomination in the category in 2025. Now touring with a full band, Blue Moon Marquee brings those wide-ranging roots together in music grounded in tradition while distinctly their own.
