Come and join Toby and her band at her first show back in 2026!Toby Beard – Official Bio
Toby Beard is far more than just a singer-songwriter from Western Australia — she is a force of nature on stage, and a passionate storyteller off it. With over two decades in the music industry, Toby has built a career on authenticity, resilience, and a fierce love for performance that has taken her across the globe.
Known for her soulful voice, captivating stage presence, and emotionally charged performances, Toby has the rare ability to make audiences feel seen, heard, and connected — whether she’s performing for 50 people in a barn or 12,000 at an international festival stage. Her music lives and breathes emotion. It’s not just something you hear — it’s something you experience.
Toby’s discography spans 10 albums, 2 live DVDs, and several EPs — a testament to her prolific creativity and constant evolution as an artist. She draws inspiration from life on the road, the connections she makes, love lost and found, motherhood, and the ever-changing landscape of the human heart. Her lyrics are honest, raw, and relatable, weaving together folk, blues, roots, rock, and soul into a unique sound that is entirely her own.
Based in the northern suburbs of Perth and a proud mother of two, Toby is firmly grounded in her Australian roots. But her reach extends far beyond. She has toured extensively across Australia, Canada, the USA, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, and the UK. Her powerful live shows have earned her loyal audiences across continents, with standout performances at festivals including:
Summerfest (Milwaukee, USA)
Skagen Festival (Denmark)
Bardentreffen (Germany)
Big Time Out Festival (Canada)
Utah Pride Festival (USA)
L-Fest (UK)
Mitchell Creek Rock & Blues (QLD, Australia)
Blues at Bridgetown, Nannup Music Festival, and WA Blues & Roots Festival (WA, Australia)
She’s also supported a range of internationally renowned artists, including Sheryl Crow, UB40, Gomez, and John Butler Trio, and has worked with award-winning producers such as Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Vance Joy) and Carey Williams (Taj Mahal).
Her most recent album, Here With Me, was recorded in Bunbury, Western Australia, with producer James Newhouse and her full Perth-based band. It is a deeply personal collection that explores themes of transformation, heartbreak, healing, and hope. From stirring ballads to explosive roots-rock anthems, the album is an honest reflection of where Toby is now as both a person and a performer.
In July 2025, Toby experienced one of the most unforgettable moments of her career when she and her five-piece band were invited to open for the legendary Carlos Santana in Germany, performing to a crowd of 12,000. The audience embraced them from the first beat, clapping, jumping, singing, and sharing in the energy Toby is known for. But the magic didn’t stop there.
Backstage, Carlos Santana personally invited Toby and her band into his dressing room to talk music, life, and jam together. He watched their soundcheck, danced along, and later sought them out for dinner. Then, in front of the massive crowd, Santana introduced Toby to the stage, saying:
“Some mornings you wake up and just know that something special is going to happen. It was an honour to meet this wonderful singer today.”
With a full heart, Toby joined him on stage to sing one of his iconic songs — a full-circle moment for the girl who used to dance to Santana records as a teenager, dreaming of being a performer.
On and off stage, Toby forms a tight-knit unit with her band — a family of musicians known for their rich harmonies, infectious energy, and the ability to create powerful, unforgettable shows. Whether she’s playing a local pub in WA or a festival stage in Europe, Toby’s connection with her audience is immediate and profound.
Her touring life is as eclectic as her music — from grassroots venues and community stages to major festivals and international showcases, Toby has proven time and again that she is a world-class performer with a down-to-earth heart.
Toby Beard is not just an artist — she is an experience. Emotionally raw, undeniably talented, and wholly authentic, she continues to inspire, connect, and shine, wherever the road may take her.
