Kathryn Walker Richardson, former Oklahoma Arts Council member and long-time portrait artist, chose Historic Stockyards City to display samples of her sought-after commissioned portraits.
Nestled in the newly expanded parent business, Boxcar Woody Furniture Co., Kathryn is sharing the showroom space with her son, Ryan Wesley Richardson’s handmade furniture.
Ryan is the owner and supporter of several other businesses in the Stockyards City area including Boxcar Woody Furniture & Reclaimed Lumber, Stockyards City Equipment and Wild Filly Boutique.
With a shared love for all things Oklahoma, the business duo feel at home with western themes because of Kathryn’s upbringing.
Daughter of Etta L. Chambers and Walter Wesley Walker, Kathryn grew up listening to horse stories and watching her dad carve designs in leather. He served as a soldier in the last U.S. mounted Cavalry, and became Oklahoma’s premiere western saddlemaker.
The blend of artisan designed handmade furnishings from Americana railroad raw materials, and top Oklahoma visual artists convinced Mr. Richardson to merge the two under one roof.
Now, RICHARDSON Fine Art Portraits + Gallery brings even more culture to a western town!
The grand opening of RICHARDSON Fine Art Portraits + Gallery, and the first-ever group show and sale: TO OKLAHOMA! WITH LOVE coincides with Stockyards City Stampede beginning on October 21st through November 21st.
Meet the artists from 5-7 p.m. at 1400 S Agnew Ave, Stockyards City, OK.
