Trauma Nursing Core Course

The Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is a one-and-a-half-day course designed to provide core-level knowledge and skills associated with the delivery of professional emergency nursing care to the trauma patient. Participants will complete online modules after reviewing the textbook prior to coming to class. Utilizing the flipped classroom model, students will engage in learning activities related to Initial Assessment, Airway Management, Head Trauma, Abdominal and Pelvic Trauma, Thoracic and Neck Trauma, Spinal Cord and Vertebral Column trauma, Surface and Burn trauma, and Disaster Management. Psychomotor Skill stations include; Head trauma, Pediatric trauma, Care of the Pregnant trauma patient, and Thoracic and Sime trauma. Skills Stations provide extensive practice with coaching utilizing the Trauma Nursing Process. Contact hours are provided by the Emergency Nurses Association.
