The Taft High School Raider Band booster organization is pleased to announce their participation in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Annual Convention for the 27th consecutive year. This convention is a valuable opportunity for the Taft Raider Band program in a multitude of ways, as it is our largest fundraiser. Meeting our goal during the TMEA convention, supports the band program plan for future shows, competitions, and scholarships.
The TMEA convention occurs over a span of four days (Wednesday February 8th through Saturday February 11th, 2023). It is the largest music educators convention in the nation. Attendees participate in
unparalleled opportunities for professional development, inspiration, networking, and the best buys on anything in the music industry. The convention is held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in downtown San Antonio.
As you can imagine with the amount of attendees, we have more work than we have booster members, therefore, we are recruiting and requesting volunteers to donate their time to help us fulfill the
requirements in adequately staffing the exhibit hall entrances with monitors/volunteers. We sit on stools and verify attendees have the proper badges to enter the exhibit hall. Best of all, volunteers are allowed free access to the exhibit hall and will receive credit for volunteer hours. The exhibit hall houses multiple vendors selling all music related items at great discounted prices.
