TKC Barn Hunt Practice at Spring Cove Farm gives you a change to practice where you trial. Three experience Barn Hunt judges (Marian Shaw, Colin Ratcliffe, and Sylvia Brownlee) will help you and your dog learn about the sport if you are a newbie with an overview discussion of Barn Hunt and the opportunity to meet the rats and work in the ring. No experience necessary, bring your dog on a flat collar and leash with treats and a crate to put in the shade, if needed, to allow their dog to rest between runs. Please go to the Barn Hunt Association website (www.barnhunt.com) and read about it before you come if you are brand new.
COST:
-$25 per team except intro and novice, which are $30. A $5 discount for any dog team that stays and helps with clean up after practice.
TIME: 1-4 PM
Please email Marian Shaw at [email protected] to preregister so we have an idea how many people will be coming. Beginners please come earlier unless you email Marian ([email protected]) a different time in advance.
Any club members who would like to help with setting up the ring and building courses would be appreciated. Straw bails are heavy! We also will need help at the end of the practice to put things away. This can count towards volunteer hours.
