Exploring the world of anger:
Within our discussion we are going to take a deep dive into the world of anger.
In the short time we have together we will seek to explore our relationship with anger, our understanding of anger and how we can effectively work with anger. There will be a mix of input, individual small group and whole group work.
To get you thinking and reflecting before the discussion, here are a few thought provokers/pointers/statements for you to reflect on:
Is there enough anger in the world?
We often hear that anger is a secondary emotion, a by-product or mask for another emotion…
yet it is part of the 6 primary emotions alongside fear, sadness, happiness, surprise and disgust.
Why do we conflate anger with aggression and violence?
Is anger behind these behaviours?
Is depression - anger turned inwards (self-loathing is linked with depression)?
Is anger the antidote to unhealthy anxiety (the inability to express anger)?
What are the gender rules regarding anger?
What biological effects can be caused by repressed anger?
