TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND Presents STEP AFRIKA!

Irresistibly joyful, tightly synchronized, and completely ingenious, Step Afrika! always brings the house down, and The Evolution Tour is coming to TITAS! As the first professional company devoted to the tradition of “Stepping,” they’ve taken this electrifying art form all over the world touring to more than 60 countries and earning a spot among the top 10 African American dance companies in the United States.
Stepping has grown into one of America’s most exciting cultural exports. It began in the early 1900s on historically black college campuses, where African American fraternities and sororities, today known as the Divine Nine, used it to show pride, unity, and love for their organizations. Watching Step Afrika! is something special. Their precision is jaw-dropping, their creativity is boundless, and the joy they bring to the stage is absolutely contagious.
If you’re looking for a performance that will lift your spirit and get your heart pounding, this Martin Luther King Jr. weekend show is one you won’t want to miss.
