An embodied ritual of grief and loss rooted in the Jewish ancestral tradition
About this Event

Join Temple of the Stranger for Tisha B'Av, the ancient Jewish day of communal mourning.

Our ancestors knew that grief is not meant to be carried alone. We've inherited ancient, embodied ways of working with grief together. With music and sound, ritual and presence, we'll welcome our grief, enter it, move through it, and let it move through us. This is an honest space for tears, silence, or whatever rises. We'll then follow the journey from loss to relief, and explore the stirrings of liberation planted at the close of this day. We'll share light bites of sacred food* to seal the ceremony.

Featuring Rav Jericho Vincent, Rabbi Yosef Goldman, Chaya Morgan

Doors open at 6:30. The ceremony will start promptly at 6:40. Please arrive on time. This experience is open to people of all backgrounds. No prior experience with Judaism or Tisha B'Av is necessary.

Dress code: Black grief attire, honoring loss, reverence, or remembrance in whatever way feels true to you. Open to folks aged 18+ who are Jewish, Jew-ish, and non-Jewish. To aid in the Great Turning please bring your own water bottle.
