About this Event
This is the re-enactor pre-registration page for the Tipsy Prohibition living history event at Rockford's Midway Village Museum. The event starts with public tours and Friday evening, Aug 12, and continued through the day Saturday, Aug 13, 2022.
the registration form will ask if you plan to stay over night onsite. We will provide assigned billet space to sleep inside some of the museum buildings.
This is a public display event with hidden speakeasies, a clandestine distillery, displays of how doctors and pharmacies provided legal prescription liquor and how the federal government attempted to enforce to ban on alcohol in the 1920s and early 1930s.
Uncover the Mischief of Prohibition as Midway Village become a dry town in the 1920s struggling to maintain law and order.
- Attend a temperance meeting to learn about the temperance movement.
- Interact with 1920s civilians, bootleggers, gangsters, police and the Feds.
- Get your mugshot taken in Midway's historic police station
- Witness a federal rain on bootleggers and moonshiners.
