Sunday 14 July at 3:30pm - 6:30pm.In this workshop we will practise some handy tips and techniques to add to your general knitting knowledge. We ask you to bring along 2 squares of knitting (details below) both with live stitches for us to practise on, we will explore some techniques for fixing mistakes to help you feel calm when they crop up in future, we'll learnt he Kitchener stitch along with some tips to remember the repetitive steps, pick up stitches along a selvedge edge and practise seaming. We will also discuss swatching, gauge, ease and blocking and there will be time to chat about other elements of knitting and ask questions!
The workshop takes place in a cute wee cafe just round the corner from the shop. Your tuition includes a cuppa and bit of cake. The workshop allows for a maximum of 6 students, so grab a pal to come along too!
Homework: Please knit 2 x stocking stitch squares of about 10cm, please don't cast them off- place one on hold and leave the other on your needles. Please can these both be made of the same yarn - DK or Aran weight are ideal.
Materials Required:
2 x squares as above
Needles the right size for your knitted squares
More of the same yarn (less than 10g needed)
Crochet hook of the same size as your needles
Darning needle
Skills required: You should be able to knit and purl confidently
