TINKERING ABOUT
Please join me Wednesday 31st May at Highwic for the opening of my exhibition "Tinkering About"
On show will be a selection of images captured using the wet plate collodion process, a 19th-century method of development that predates film photography. Each image is hand-crafted, producing an original direct-positive image on a sheet of glass or aluminium plate. This process produces unique images with a timeless beauty.
The exhibition is part of the Auckland Festival of Photography and runs until the 11th of June.
Highwic is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10.30am to 4.30pm with last entry to the house at 3.45pm. Entry to the house, including the exhibition, is $10 for adults, accompanied children under 18 are free.
During the exhibition, I will also be holding wet plate collodion portrait sessions for those of you interested in experiencing how portraits were made during the Victorian era. The sessions last 45 minutes and are limited to 2 people per plate. The plates will be posted out to clients once varnished and cured, a week or so after the session.
Bookings are essential
