Amateur Ornithologist are a Tyneside New Wave group led by pop culture obsessive Daniel Clifford. With a brain that stores snippets of old comics, adverts and TV shows, Daniel channels these into the weird pop of Amateur Ornithologist.
Amateur Ornithologist have earned comparisons to Talking Heads, The Beach Boys and local heroes Field Music due to melodic instrumentation, lush harmonies and nostalgic vibes.
The band’s neurodivergent members use music to express themselves articulately and create moments of understanding for people in a similar position.
