Juliana Venter selected four world class musicians for a new quartet called Time-Space-Continuum. A group of musicians that have embraced all styles of music yet each one of them have their own individual sound frequenting stages around the globe.
Venter has made a name on the Norwegian scene with duo Nystrøm/Venter, Paal Nilssen-Love circus , Janne Eraker ensemble, and more recently with “ It was her idea” ( Grönberg/ Morten Vågan/Nilssen- Love)
She has also been co-curator of the award winning Fram kunstfestivalen on Nesodden for the past six years. As an actress she has spend the past 9 years collaborating with theatre group Det Utvalgte on various productions. She will be releasing a solo vocal album on Sonic Transmissions- 10/02/2026.
Pianist and composer Jonas Cambien works in free jazz, improvisation, world music and contemporary classical music. His quartet Maca Conu with (Emmeluth/Flaten/Wildhagen) received rave reviews. Furthermore he collaborates and performs internationally with Kairo based trio - The Handover; Oslo based- Majãz (with musicians from Syria, Palestine and Norway) Aksiom; Simiskina ; and more.
Bass player and composer Ingebrigt Håker Flaten recently voted one of the most important innovators on the bass worldwide, ( Downbeat) is known for his work in many styles of music such as free jazz , modern jazz, rock, experimental music and hiphop. He is known for his work with Atomic, The Thing, The Young Mothers and Exit ( Knarr).
Drummer and Composer Kesivan Naidoo from South Africa is a multi award winning drummer known as one of the greatest drummer of his generation. Born into the so-called Y Generation, a “freedom’s children” that got to celebrate the liberation their parents fought so hard for, Kesivan was always conscious of the need to forge a new musical identity.
For Kesivan sound is rooted in improvisation, in rapturous expression and radical invention – but most importantly in listening.
Having played with Miriam Makeba and Louis Moholo Moholo , Feya Faku and many more. Kesivan and the Lights is his current big band .
On April the 19th
TSC will be performing at legendary Kafe Haerverk in Oslo.
Based and inspired by South African , European and Norwegian jazz , world music and contemporary classical music.
Music as a form of resistance ,friction, an outcry for rebellion a celebration of life , a voice to the marginalized, a call to freedom.
