In this two-day workshop (4 hours total), we aim to challenge the mechanisms of the ghettoisation of imagination drawing on ancestral and speculative references through experimental audiovisual creation. Inspired by past experiences, we will "project" a message from the future, working with a sense of urgency (Third Cinema) and imperfection as an ally (Imperfect Cinema, Julio García Espinosa).
We will explore ideas of limitation as a springboard for creation and contagiousness as a positive tool in art. Through theoretical and practical input, participants will experiment together to create immediate experimental videos, utilizing the speculation typical of the science fiction genre.
From Quilombo to Solarpunk: how does resistance find creative ways to face global problems? Audiovisual art as a threshold for dialogue.
duration of one workshop: 2 hours
led by: Natalia Lis and Pavel Tavares (Strefa WolnoSłowa)
