Yeni Valdes Bio:

Yenisel Valdés was born in San Luis, province of Pinar del Río on November 29, 1972.

She studied at the Provincial School of Arts in the city of Pinar del Río in the specialty of choral direction, as an art instructor, graduating in 1990. She worked her first two years of social service as a methodologist at the Provincial Methodological Center. Her inclination towards music was always within the variants of singing, since she was a child at the age of four she had already started in the amateur movement in which she almost always won awards at provincial festivals. When she finished her social service, she managed to start working as a singer in the first professional orchestra called “Sangre Caribena”. She remained active for around 3 years and a while later she decided to try her luck in the capital, where she started with the “Reyes 73” orchestra. After appearing for opposition and casting tests, the “sello LA” orchestra arrived, the group “PG” formed by maestro José Luis Cortés and under his baton, in 1997 he invited her to be part of “NG la Banda”. ”: for her an incredible school. With them she traveled bringing Cuban music around the world and with the joy of sharing the stage with musicians of the caliber of Peruchin, Feliciano Arango, Emilio Vega, Miguel Ángel... Pan con Salsa, and of course El Tosco. In 2001 she proposed to Juan Formell to join Los Van Van. Jenny has been in Los Van Van for ten years, giving her best and trying not to disappoint those who more than 40 years ago started the machinery of this train that, to the pride of all Cubans, is called Van Van.

On February 3, 2017, the female voice of Van Van confirmed her departure from the group after 16 years.
