Come hang out with Tim Rachbach and his awesome crew for a fun, in-person event!
Tim Rachbach, a Tucson AZ native, began drumming at age 7 and developed a passion for jazz in middle school, joining the Tucson Jazz Institute. Tim performed with the TJi Ellington Band, and won major competitions, including the Essentially Ellington Competition, as well as touring Europe. He earned his BM from Manhattan School of Music in 2013, working with master drummers John Riley and Kendrick Scott, as well as exploring Indian and Brazilian music.
In New York City, he recorded albums as a side-man, hosted jam sessions, and released his debut, . He performed with the New York Youth Symphony Jazz Band at Dizzy’s Club and toured Brazil. Post-college, he attended prestigious jazz workshops Banff Workshop for Jazz & Creative Music in 2018 and Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead in 2019.
He then moved to Los Angeles, creating , where he played all instruments. He became prominent in the LA jazz scene and recorded his latest jazz record, . Following the release of this album, Rachbach moved to Amsterdam to attend the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where he completed his Master's in Music in 2025 with a thesis on traditional Malian and Guinean drum ensembles applied to the drum set.
He also attended an exchange semester at the famed CNSMDP in Paris. During this period, Tim played numerous gigs across the Netherlands, Germany, and France, including at the Transition Jazz Festival Utrecht with Greg Osby.

Parking is located under the building, accessible from west of the building off of 1st St. between Bunker Hill Towers and the mini-shopping center AU LAC is in.
Once you’ve turned into the large driveway, turn left into the garage “Guest Parking and Residence Parking of The Promendade”. $12 CASH ONLY.

Performances at Birds of a Feather Jazz Lounge happen Tuesdays through Sundays, depending on who has booked, and shows benefit selected charity and non-profit organizations.

Au Lac is a non-alcoholic restaurant. We serve nice mock-tails in the venue. And the good news is that all ages can attend or perform there! If you're wanting alcohol before or after the event, The Conrad is a lovely bar just across the front of Disney hall, just a block away.
