Inside a beautiful Victorian chapel beneath Royal Berks Hospital, Reading. A special live performance & talk by drone & jazz musician Tim Hill in celebration of his new album 'Leviathan Whispers' on the Buried Treasure label. An album of longings and laments, deleriums and drone songs in which saxophones sing out over and through rich soundscapes. The album conjures a dreamtime world of giant horns, the beasts they summon and the earth songs they sing. A world of breath hums and bone songs, edgeland dances and dreamtime ballads. Melodic noises, whispers, roars and dark deep tones for the shadows and ghosts to dance to.
Tim lived and played in Reading in the 1980s and 90s. He was part o the many arts squats, protests and free festivals there and was one of the first people to put on music at the Rising Sun Arts Centre. He was associated with Red Rag and Catalyst magazine and He helped with many arts events, projects, festivals and parades. He also was friends with, and collaborated with, many Reading artists and musicians, including guitarist Mike Cooper, song writer Terry Clarke, Geoff Hawkins, Gary Jones, John Delahunty and artist Pete Hay.
