On Saturday June 3, we welcome families back for the last TILT Kids Day before summer break — this time, exploring the theme of la fête (celebration)! Join us for a giant family party and enjoy the most wonderful aspects of celebrations: dancing, music, and time spent together.

The day kicks off with a family story hour focused on celebratory French and English classics. Be amazed by a one of a kind mime performance with TILT festival favorite Broken Box Mime. Capture the moment with a family portrait and take part in a collaborative exhibition by The Anonymous Project. The celebration day ends with a huge all-ages dance party!

The TILT Day Pass includes entry to all events throughout the day. View schedule below.

All adults and kids require a pass. An adult must accompany the kids at all times.

C'est la fête ! Story Hour

Meet us in the Haskell Library for a fun, interactive story hour! Keeping with the la fête theme, we invite families to discover the magical world of dance, music, and celebration with books by French and English-speaking authors.

Broken Box Mime Theater

Cue the invisible confetti! C’est La Fete ! is the new family show by our friends at Broken Box Mime Theater. Audiences can join the fun from their seats, moving their bodies and stretching their imaginations through a delightful afternoon of physical storytelling.

In homage to the great French mimes, Broken Box remixes the art form with modern sensibilities and a commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Every body is unique, and every body is worthy of a celebration! What does celebration mean to you?

The Anonymous Project Gallery Tour

Discover FIAF’s latest exhibition Homecoming, and create your own photo collage!

Participate in a mini tour of FIAF’s exhibition, Homecoming. Part of The Anonymous Project, this exhibition celebrates family, parties, and special occasions! We invite our younger audiences to take a closer look at the labyrinth of photos. Then, following the tour, create your own photo collage from vintage photographs and postcards!

Tours will begin every 30 minutes in the FIAF gallery.

C'est la fête ! DJ hour

FIAF Tinker Auditorium, A Level, 22 East 60th Street, NYC

Dance away the afternoon with a DJ set of French party classics! FIAF’s Tinker auditorium transforms into the trendiest boîte on the Upper East Side for this lively midday celebration. Bring the whole family and grab a mocktail – c’est la fête!

Presented in a new format this season, FIAF’s TILT Kids Festival will take place in three separate installments throughout the 2022-2023 cultural calendar. Each Kids Day will offer a variety of activities for our youngest visitors, with emphasis on an engaging theme. Stay tuned for an announcement of the return of TILT Kids Day in fall 2023!
