This class is for anyone who wants to learn about TIG (Tungsten inert gas) welding.
This beginning hands-on class will delve into the fundamental principles and techniques of TIG welding under the guidance of an experienced instructor. Through a blend of interactive demonstrations and practical exercises, you will learn about TIG welding equipment, including power sources, torches, and shielding gas systems, working with different types of metals, hand-eye coordination, and torch manipulation, welding positions with plenty of time for practice, questions & answers.
Dates: This class will start May 1, 2024, and meet every Wednesday for six weeks.
Time: 6 PM – 9 PM every week
Where: NMU's Jacobetti Complex
Cost: $615 and includes instruction, equipment and all materials. Register today! Must meet an 8-person minimum. If you have your own welding hood, jacket, safety glasses or gloves, bring them with you. If you don't have these items, we will provide them for your use.
***IMPORTANT - If you have a pacemaker or similar item you MUST consult your doctor before enrolling. This is due to the high-frequency start that TIG welding utilizes to establish the arc.
