A fun and creative Tie Dye session!
In this one-off session we will explore:
What fabrics take dye best.
How to prep fabrics for tie dye.
How to create different effects by folding and tying in different ways.
How to apply the dye for a good result.
We will have a spectrum of bright colours available to use to make really colourful designs. A t-shirt will be provided and also some cotton fabric squares to experiment with (which you can then use for your own sewing projects!).
This session is likely to be messy so please come dressed in old clothing. Aprons and gloves will be provided but we are working with dyes and there is no guarantee that splashes won't get onto your clothing. If the weather is good we will use the outdoor space at the church for part of the session.
For the fabric to fully take the dye, we need to leave the projects in sealed plastic bags overnight. I will send home full instructions on how to rinse out your project the next day.
As we aren't using sewing machines for this session younger children are welcome to join us. If you are under 10 you will need an adult to stay with you for the full session.
I will contact you re: t-shirt sizes when you have booked. Because of needing to order in the correct white t-shirts and prep them for dyeing, bookings for this course will close on the 25th June.
