Come celebrate Christmas differently — with movement, music, connection and community. ❤️
This special Christmas edition is open to everyone, including families with children. Come together, share food, sing, dance and enjoy an evening where there is no need to perform or be a dancer.
🎶 PROGRAM
17:30 — Doors Open
Arrive, settle in and connect.
18:00 — Potluck 🍲
Bring something to share for yourself and at least 3 other people and enjoy a communal Christmas meal.
19:00 — Singing Circle with Mathias van den Bosch 🎶
An evening of collective singing, connection and togetherness.
20:30 — Ecstatic Dance with Matti Rootsman 💃🕺
A musical journey to move, dance and connect freely with LP records (LP platen)
23:00 — Closing Ceremony ✨
💃 WHAT IS ECSTATIC DANCE?
Ecstatic Dance is free-form dance without choreography or fixed steps. You simply listen to the music and move in whatever way feels natural to you.
No dance experience is needed. You can dance alone, with others, slowly or energetically. The focus is on being present in your body, expressing yourself freely and respecting your own and other people's boundaries.
It's not about how you look — it's about how you feel and how we connect as a community.
Guidelines:
- No talking
- No alcohol
- No substances
- We dance barefoot
- We dance with each other with consent
👨👩👧👦 FAMILIES ARE VERY WELCOME
This Christmas edition is especially about bringing people together.
Families with children are more than welcome to join the potluck, singing circle and dance.
Come as you are. Bring your family, friends and something to share. ❤️
📍 LOCATION & PARKING
Etage Tropical
Port Arthurlaan 33, 9000 Ghent
There is free parking in the immediate surroundings of the venue.
You can also use Parking at Park and Ride 5 minutes walk from Etage Tropical. The location is outside Ghent's LEZ.
🚗 Tip: Arrive a little early, especially on Christmas Eve, so you have time to park and arrive calmly.
