Phil DeGreg, a long-time fixture on the Cincinnati jazz scene, led the house trio at the iconic Blue Wisp Jazz Club for over 16 years where he accompanied countless national jazz artists. He toured for a year with the Woody Herman orchestra. In 2015 he launched the Jazz@First Concert Series through the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra to present thematic and educational performances. DeGreg served as Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music for 27 years. He authored the widely used textbook Jazz Keyboard Harmony, which has sold over 20,000 copies, and was a long-time faculty member at the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops.
