Thursday Night Coffeehouse is a celebration of up to four local and touring artists coming together in an intimate, coffeehouse setting at the venerable Artichoke Community Music. It is a wonderful opportunity to hear artists of all levels in a listening room setting. It is also important to note that each artist is donating their performance to contribute to Artichoke's mission. Because of this we encourage our audiences to tip the performers if they are able. Beer, wine, soft drinks, and light snacks are available for purchase at the bar. Doors - 6:30pm

THE LINEUP:
Alexa MacDonald --
Alexa MacDonald started singing in folk music clubs, choirs and musical theatre in her teens. Although she has pursued many diverse interests and professions including design, fiber arts, publication arts, radio and concert production, music is the medium she has come back to over and over again. Her original songs have been released on a single album, Compassionate Heart, and a duo album, The Spirit in the Bone, with Tom Agostino. In 2002 she and Tom co-founded The Folk Sessions radio show, which still airs on KJZA in Arizona, and co-created the ongoing Folk Sessions Concert Series. Alexa now lives in Portland, Oregon, where she was Artistic Director at Artichoke Community Music from 2017 to 2020. Alexa performs as a solo act and in collaboration with other Portland-area musicians.
Stefano Calles --
I’m Stefano! I play the guitar and sing. I’m from El Salvador and grew up listening to music from all over the world. I had the opportunity to play in different projects in El Salvador mixing music and poetry like Lxs Bastardxs and making party music with Labandasinfin. I recently moved to the US, and last year I played with a few local and international musicians. I love playing and sharing my Central American culture with the world.
Gary Furlow --
When you're born and raised in a musical melting pot that is New Orleans, you get a wide variety of sounds flowing through your head. Jazz, Soul, Country, R & B, Blues, Rock & Roll, Dixieland. Gary now makes the Great Pacific Northwest his home. That makes for a unique mix of mountains, gators, rain, bayous and the people he's met along the way. The soul of the deep South still find its way into his songs as does the spirit of the Northwest.
