We’re excited to welcome the incredible John and Julia Wharington from Victoria for a Level 2 and Level 3 Balboa class, while they’re in town for the Slow Soiree weekend!
Julia and John Wharington are passionate about all things Balboa, be it fast or slow, and nothing brings them more joy than sharing their enthusiasm with dancers at any level. They’ve been dancing and teaching together since 2010, in Australia and internationally. Having learned from and danced with some of the original dancers, their approach to teaching Balboa is to be respectful of the roots, whilst bringing their own ideas and modern perspective to shape creative content.
From their classes you can expect an infectious energy, innovative teaching techniques, and challenges that get you thinking out of the box, all bundled in a fun and unique package. Their aim is to get you dancing Balboa comfortably and confidently, looking and feeling good in no time.
Level 1 at 6:30pm - Balboa Fundamentals with your local instructors
Level 2 at 7:45pm - Balboa Explorers with John and Julia
Level 3: at 9:00pm - Level 3 with John and Julia.This class is perfect for seasoned dancers who are ready to push their boundaries. If you're an experienced dancer, who is comfortable will all the content provided in Level 2 classes, this is the class is for you! Aimed at those who thrive in a faster-paced environment, focusing less on specific moves and more on developing your individual style, fluidity, musicality, and overall connection.
Pre-registering helps visiting instructors to know how many to expect and plan accordingly (you can opt to pay on the night).
