Another amazing treat in store: One of the best balboa teachers in the world, Shani Brown will be stopping off in Sheffield to teach our beginner and improver bal classes on 20 March 2025.
7.30pm: Doors open
8.00-8.45pm: Beginners’ class. Suitable for beginners who have at minimum taken a taster class, or a couple of beginners' classes, plus all those wanting to improve their basics
8.45-9pm: Social dancing
9-9.45pm: Improvers’ class
9.45-10.30pm: Social dancing
Cost: £11 for one class £16 for both.

Shani Brown is from sunny southern California and is best known for her fast, syncopated Balboa foot-work and her soft connection – which has been said to feel like a ‘warm hug’. As an instructor, she strives to make dancing simple and effortless with a strong emphasis on combining foundational basics with the soft skills of connection mechanics and partnership to develop smooth flow and personal style.
Shani began swing dancing in 1998 and is honoured to have honed her social dance skills and footwork under the guidance of legendary dancers Willie Desatoff, Hal and Marge Takier, Bart Bartolo, Jack Carey, as well as Dean Raftery and many others. And although she has competed, placed and won several major competitions, she mainly enjoys social dancing and inspiring others to love balboa and swing.
