“We’re excited to share the news about the new 45 release from The Glades. The Glades is a Soul Jazz Organ Trio consisting of Guitarist Addison Rifkind, Organist Adam Scone, and Michael Duffy on Drums and Percussion. The group started collaborating shortly after Addison and Duffy moved to Miami from Los Angeles. Scone had been active in the South Florida music scene for a few years before Addison and Duffy arrived.
What began as a monthly hangout and music workshop at Adam Scone’s home studio quickly turned into an entire album of songs. After all the finishing touches were put in place, the group met record label owner Travis Acker, also known as Big Tee. Duffy and Addison played him a rough cut of a couple of tunes, and he was immediately excited to move forward. The Glades signed to @tikitumbao Records, and we are excited to partner up with Big Tee and the rest of the Tiki Tumbao family.
After going through all their tunes, two tracks stood out for the 45 release. The A side became “Cash Only,” a song inspired by a late night at Mac’s Club Deuce in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood. If you know, you know. The B side, “Cool Out,” is a chill swinging guitar riff that Addison brought into a session. Once Scone blessed the song with Organ and Duffy laid down some solid Drums and Percussion, a solid slow jam classic was created.
