The first Thump back was wildy successful and packed. Were coming back for RND 2 December 14th. As always no cover charge and its an 18+ event. A city favorite Thump was one of the first and longest running dance music weeklies in Columbus. The first Iteration of Thump was called Pow Wow which then became Thump and it took place every Wednesday at Circus (now Condada) We enjoyed a massively successful run at Circus where Red (RIP) diligently oversaw our fun for years . We even had some luminary acts make guest appearance's such as Koan Sound, Gemini, Dirt Monkey and Jantsen. All of these now huge acts made a stop thru our free weekly Thump and played for what limited funds we had available just cause they were traveling and wanted to share their music.
After that bar closed we went to Woodlands for a hot second. Then to Midway followed by Trism for several years of packed Wednesday nights on campus. When Trism closed we went to Deucento. Our crowd has always followed us to whatever venue we call home. Thump is not about the atmosphere its about coming together thru music. When the Pandemic hit and they closed shit down, we were all at Thump when we heard about it. Was probably one of the last social interactions of a group around music we had for a while.
I say all that to say this, sometimes home is not a place its your people.
I truly mean that and we want you to continue to feel like Thump is a night you can call home and come and see your people. So we are bringing it back as a monthly at Skullys.
We put together a special lineup of dj's that we feel have been a part of our journey and we hope you'll join us to vibe out to some multi genre dance music.
