2 Ton Tony's Pizza will be turning back the clock this Thursday night! For more than 60 years the Proietti's Pizza family has been making pizza in Rochester. The original location was on North Goodman St near the corner of Norton St. opening in 1965 and closing its doors in 1990. During those years working with my family led me to carry on our family traditions and inspired me to open 2 Ton Tony's Pizza. Shortly after opening in 2010, my wife Kathy joined me in the business and on any given day you will see her alongside me slinging pies.
Along the way I was fortunate enough to work with many people starting out at Proietti's when I was a kid. Throughout the years we have worked with a number of people in both Proietti's and 2 Ton Tony's that have been a part of our pizza family. This where Kathy's idea for Throwback Thursday comes into play.
We have invited some of those people that were part of both places to return to their roots as guest Pizzaiolos for this great event. When you stop in on Thursday you may see a familiar face from the past that made your pizza when you were a kid.
So please join us this Thursday as we turn the clock back with some old-time pizza guys (a couple of them are in their 80's) from 2 Ton Tony's and Proietti's.
We will be offering incredible special pricing for this night and in following the theme of Throwback Thursday these are the specials!
Large 1-Topping Pizza $10 each (This was the price of a pizza in 1990)
Large Pizza Deal $20.10 - Large 1-topping pizza and 10 Wings (this is the year 2 Ton Tony's opened)
We will also have 20 oz. glass bottles of Coca-Cola available for sale. We will also have 8 oz. glass bottles of Coke (The same size bottle from old school vending machines) as a giveaway while supplies last.
Kathy is planning on multiple raffles and giveaways throughout the night as well as a whole lot of love and fun shared throughout the night.
So please join us this Thursday to celebrate this great event! We hope to see you there as we share stories and memories and create new ones as well.
