About

A statement released by the artists explains, “Each brings a different perspective, and each is recording the living history of the neighborhood as they see it, with their own individual photographic style and interest. The project comes at a difficult period for the historic Asian neighborhood.”

Having received a City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Matching Funds grant, the group has coordinated free community 'photo walk' tours and built out a website for free-use. The matching funds grant was awarded to further educate the public about Asian American and Pacific Islander culture as seen in a slice of Seattle's Chinatown-International District neighborhood.

The exhibit will be held in the historic Nisei Veterans Hall in Seattle’s Little Saigon neighborhood. Constructed in 1938, the hall has been a community cornerstone for Seattle’s Japanese American community.

Exhibit will be open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays in May 2023, between 11:00am to 3:00pm.
