About this Event
Every photographer has a unique view of the world — and the reasons behind the moments they capture and share publicly are not always self-evident.
Through my lens is a series of talks by some of Australia’s most widely acclaimed photographers illuminating the stories behind the stills. You’ll hear about what first influenced them to pick up a camera, what kept them shooting, and how their work has evolved over the years, all while viewing their work on screen.
After the talk, head down to the Library's Photography Gallery for a brief guided walkthrough of , its first exhibition, showcasing 400 photographs, from 200 photographers, across three centuries.
Fiona Wolf is a professional photographer and exhibiting artist based in Sydney. Raised in Germany, Fiona returned to Sydney in 2005 after working as a Sound Engineer and Camera Assistant for German television, as a photo editor for New Economy Magazine, and as Creative Manager for Universal Music, Berlin.
Since her return, she’s made her mark in the photographic world, working as a freelance photographer and exhibiting her personal work. She’s also been an educator since 2009, lecturing at the Australian Centre for Photography and Sydney Photographic Workshops, and more recently, at The Scots College and The University of Technology Sydney. Fiona has had the opportunity to speak at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Head On Photo Festival, and as a guest speaker at TAFE Randwick. Her passion for storytelling through the lens continues to drive her journey in the dynamic world of photography.
