A somatic and cultural exploration into the voice techniques re-taking the world by storm!
About this Event

Ever watched a me singing and say, “how the f*ck are they doing that?” Well come learn for yourself! Sunday, 9/27 @themapleleaf in Millvale! This ~3 hr workshop will be a deeply somatic exploration into the voice and sound as we explore the magical tones that can come out of these human-flesh-organs!

In addition to finding these additional overtones and subtones in our own bodies, we’ll explore the cultural roots of some of these techniques around the world (see slide 2). Full disclosure: i AM NOT Tuvan nor do i have any direct [known] lineage to a tradition of throat singing; i learned some techniques from a Haitian-American beatboxer/rapper (shoutout @komakozie), and have explored them on my own since. If you are or know a real teacher, please let me know.

Bring yourself and an openness to experiment!
