Inspired by classic gothic and psychological horror traditions such as The Tell-Tale Heart and modern atmospheric storytelling like Stranger Things, learn how to create the next great scary story. Campers will explore how to write stories that include atmosphere, psychology, and the unknown. Learn how writers use setting, pacing, symbolism, and character flaws to build emotionally resonant and compelling tales.
The week concludes with a Twilight Showcase for friends and family during the last 15 minutes of camp on Friday, where campers will present their original suspense stories in a dramatic and immersive reading event.
