PRIDE SCREENING #2: For our second screening this month, we've got a scorcher!
The first wide release American film to receive an NC-17 rating, SHOWGIRLS stars Elizabeth Berkley (fresh off Saturday morning TV's SAVED BY THE BELL) as Nomi Malone, a drifter who arrives in Vegas with dreams to make it as an exotic dancer.
From filmmaker Paul Verhoeven (ROBOCOP, STARSHIP TROOPERS), SHOWGIRLS is, depending on who you ask, an over-the-top Queer Camp Classic or a dark satire about the dog-eat-dog rot at the core of capitalist America. SPOILER: it's both. Critically savaged upon release, SHOWGIRLS is now a definitive part of the new cult canon. 🌈

Doors open at 7:40 PM. Show starts at 8 PM.
Thrillema is intended for adult audiences.
Feel free to bring your own snacks but please clean up your trash.
Seating is first come first serve. Please do not come to the screening if you’re feeling unwell. If you can’t attend, please let us know so we can give the opportunity to the next person.
The museum theatre entrance is on the lower level off the parking lot and is wheelchair accessible. A reminder that the parking lot of the Museum of Natural History is PAID only.
