Three Minute Thesis 2026 - The Finals

The warmly invites all University of Birmingham staff and students (undergraduate, postgraduate taught, and research) to join us for this year’s Birmingham Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Finals.

3MT is an internationall recognised competition where doctoral researchers have just three minutes and one slide to present their research. 3MT is a fast-paced, accessible way to discover the breadth of research being undertaken across the University, with no prior or specialist knowledge required.

The winner of the final will progress to represent the University at the national Vitae and the international U21 3MT competitions.

Join us to hear the finalists’ presentations, and enjoy complimentary cake and a hot drink during the judging break. You will also get an early preview of the presentations before our People’s Choice public vote opens.

Please note: presentations start at 3:10pm. A refreshment break and prizegiving will follow from approximately 4:30pm. To avoid disruption, late entry during presentations is not permitted.
