Three Chamberlain Square, the latest development to be completed as part of Birmingham’s Paradise Masterplan, focused on setting new standards for sustainability and wellbeing, providing Birmingham with a landmark building which is net zero in operational energy and has delivered on market-leading low embodied carbon solutions.

This talk will explain the structural engineering design solutions selected for the project and will explore the decisions taken to minimise the embodied carbon of the project, explaining how benefits can be found by challenging the norm.

Tim Stidwill is a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer with over 30-years’ experience in the Construction Industry, including numerous high-profile projects in Birmingham City Centre. Tim led the engineering design of the Three Chamberlain Square development during the pre-construction stages of the project, with a particular focus on low embodied carbon design.
