Threads That Heal is a powerful fashion show raising awareness of organ donation within South Asian communities, brought to life through real people, real stories, and the transformative power of creativity.

Set within the breathtaking surroundings of Coventry Cathedral, with its iconic stained-glass windows creating a stunning backdrop, this is far more than a fashion show.

Every person walking the runway has been personally affected by organ donation. From transplant recipients and living donors to donor families and community voices, each story represents hope, resilience, love, and second chances.

In a striking moment of unity, all garments on the runway will be styled in shades of pink, symbolising compassion, healing, life, and action.

Delivered by the South Asian Heritage Trust in partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) and Coventry Cathedral, this event aims to open up important conversations around organ donation in a way that feels human, hopeful, and culturally relevant.

South Asian communities are more likely to need an organ transplant, yet remain underrepresented on the organ donor register.

One conversation. One decision. One donor.

That can change, and this event is about bringing people together to reflect, learn, and inspire action.

At the heart of our work is South Asian Heritage Month (1st July - 31st July) – the UK’s first national awareness month dedicated to South Asian communities. Entirely volunteer-led, it now reaches thousands across the UK through events, exhibitions, and stories shared both online and in local communities.

This year’s theme is Unity in Diversity a theme chosen by our community, celebrating the many languages, faiths, cultures, stories and journeys that make us who we are. Though our paths may be different, we are connected by shared histories, shared hopes, and a deep sense of belonging.
