Thorne Spring Fest with Jeff & Paige!

Looking for something fun to do with your children on BVSD's spring in-service day? Hop into spring and celebrate Earth Day with Thorne Nature Experience at the Sombrero Marsh Environmental Education Center. Join us for seasonal nature crafts, spring-themed activities with Thorne educators, and the chance to get your groove on with our favorite nature performers Jeff & Paige! Make a day of it and pack a picnic lunch to enjoy while gazing at the majestic mountain views.

Schedule of Events:

• 10 am-11 am: Nature activities including seasonal nature crafts, dip netting in the mini wetland, explorations around the marsh and nature play area, and spring-themed activities with Thorne educators.
• 11 am-noon: Concert by Jeff & Paige

Registration is required! Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. This event will be outdoors, rain or shine. We recommend planning for the weather- don't forget your sunscreen and layers. In the event of extreme weather, the event will be canceled and we do not have a backup date.

Special Note About Parking:

Due to a BVSD construction project, parking at the event will be limited to 80 vehicle spots and some require a bit of walking. To make sure we have enough parking, we're limiting the number of adult tickets to the event.

If you ride your bike, use public transportation, or get dropped off, we will guarantee your entry to the event, even if you're on the waitlist! If you are driving and can carpool with a friend, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

FYI:

The City of Boulder is hosting a workshop led by Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds and Thorne Staff on the value of nature play and natural playgrounds on April 17-19, 2024. This group of 25 city staff will be on-site at Thorne Nature Experience on April 19, learning about nature play through small group observations of children’s use of the Bienenstock nature playground at Thorne’s Spring Fest.
