Műsoruk sem átlagos: Haydn 64., A-dúr szimfóniája, a Tempora mutantur és Janáček ritkán hallható rapszódiája, a Taras Bulba között három kortárs mű sorjázik: először Adès saját opusa, a 2018-ban Kirill Gerstein és a Bostoni Szimfonikusok számára komponált Zongoraverseny hangzik el, melynek szólistája ezúttal korunk kiváló zongoraművésze, Igor Levit lesz, majd Kurtág tíz évvel ezelőtt keletkezett, Boulezt köszöntő darabja és Boulez egy kompozíciója – utalva arra, hogy 2025-ben ünnepeljük a nagy francia zeneszerző centenáriumát./////
A true sensation: the Vienna Philharmonic, one of the finest orchestras in the world, is coming to Müpa Budapest to perform under the baton of one of the most exciting composers of our time, Britain’s Thomas Adès! The programme they will be playing is no average one either, as it features both Haydn’s ‘Tempora mutantur’ Symphony No. 64 in A major and Janáček’s rarely heard rhapsody Taras Bulba, along with three contemporary works: Adès’s own Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, written in 2018 for Kirill Gerstein and the Boston Symphony Orchestra and on this occasion featuring Igor Levit, one of the great pianists of our era, as the soloist, followed by a musical tribute György Kurtág wrote to Pierre Boulez ten years ago, as well as a composition by Boulez himself – a reminder that we will soon be celebrating the centenary of the great French composer’s birth in 2025.
