Thom Browne: The Man Who Tailors Dreams
About this Event
On Friday evening, September 18, 2026, The Bolton Arts Foundation will celebrate the fifth anniversary of its annual fashion film screening with the North Texas premiere of Thom Browne: The Man Who Tailors Dreams at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Reiner Holzemer, the documentary offers rare access to the creative world of Thom Browne, the visionary American designer whose radical reinterpretation of the classic grey suit transformed contemporary tailoring and challenged conventional ideas surrounding gender, proportion, uniformity, and self-expression. Filmed over two years and five collections, the documentary traces Browne’s extraordinary career while revealing the discipline, imagination, and meticulous craftsmanship behind his theatrical presentations and globally influential brand.
Following its world premiere at DOC NYC in November 2024, the film has received only limited public exhibition in the United States, making this a rare opportunity for North Texas audiences to experience it on the big screen.
This milestone event is made possible through the generous support of Forty Five Ten, our marquee sponsor, whose commitment to fashion, culture, and creative excellence makes the company a natural partner for this year’s program. The foundation is also proud to continue its five-year partnership with Dallas College's Fashion Marketing Department, whose support has helped expand student access to fashion, film, and cultural programming, and with Patron Magazine, a valued supporter of the foundation and its mission from the beginning.
For five years, The Bolton Arts Foundation has used its annual screening to bring important fashion documentaries to Dallas audiences while creating direct educational opportunities for emerging scholars and creative professionals. Proceeds from ticket sales support paid internships at the Texas Fashion Collection at the University of North Texas, allowing students to gain meaningful experience in collections research, object-based learning, archival stewardship, exhibition development, and the preservation of fashion history.
Every ticket purchased helps a student move beyond the classroom and into one of the country’s most important educational fashion repositories. By attending, guests are not only gaining access to an exceptional evening of fashion and film, but also investing directly in the next generation of researchers, curators, educators, and creative leaders.
