About this Event

We're walking the St Alban's Way Pilgrimage Walk - from St Paul's to St Albans cathedrals - in five stages over five days, 16-20 June.

We're celebrating the sacredness not just of these temples of spirituality, but of the very land beneath our feet; the rivers, lakes and chalk streams in whose company we walk; reminding ourselves that these natural gifts require our stewardship and protection.

Reminding ourselves that we are never separate from nature, but interdependent. Walking this sacred land, everyone's natural birthright, restores and nourishes us at all levels – physically, emotionally, spiritually.

We're walking because our planet needs this.

The world needs this.

And as individuals, we need this too.

Everyone is welcome whether for the whole way, or just for a few steps. Please join us.

Today's walk

Stage 3. Tuesday 18 June: 7.5 miles - Woodside Park Station to Elstree Station.

The route continues on the Dollis Valley Green Walk north to join the London Outer Orbital Path (LOOP) as far as Barnet Lane. It crosses the A1 at Stirling Corner to enter Borehamwood and Elstree and then downhill on roads and paths to the station.

Arrangements

We meet at 10.15 am outside Woodside Park Station.

The finish time is approximate.

There will be a walk leader who has walked the route before or has up-to-date instructions from someone who has.

The walk is open to all and we'd love to have your company for as much or as little as you can manage. (But sorry, no dogs)

Bring everything you need (food, drink etc).

This is a green pilgrimage route, so please use public transport to arrive at the start and to get home at the end of the day.

Finally, please read these important instructions and Frequently Asked Questions.

Your safety

Participants join the walk at their own risk. For the safety and wellbeing of all walkers, someone has walked the route in the previous few weeks to identify hazards, changes or uncertainties. However, this cannot guarantee safety or eliminate all risks. So please walk responsibly and with care for yourself and fellow walkers. Do not do anything which you feel may risk injury or ill health - only you know your body and its limits.
