Can Chloe and Chris beat the odds? Meet Chloe the ‘bombshell’ and ‘odd boy’ Chris. Both 17, they are thrown together in a ‘noweheresville’ of a town in regional Australia and fall in love.
But, like their mythic counterparts Orpheus and Eurydice, their story is laced with tragedy. Chloe comes from a single parent family, a background of domestic violence and suffers from dyslexia. Chris is the son of the English teacher with a love of poetry, literature and jazz. Chris is destined to leave the gravel and the heat but is it a path he has chosen? Chloe has developed coping mechanisms, but will she be able to break the patterns of her life to date?
Feet First Collective is known for its larger scale immersive works. Following a highly successful run of Sarah Grochala’s 'S-27' at Adelaide Fringe 2020, 'This Is Where We Live' is a chance to see the company’s theatrically bold and physically inventive approach in miniature.
Directed by Teresa Izzard and featuring Samuel Addison and Lauren Beeton, this is the Western Australian premiere of 'This Is Where We Live' by Vivienne Walshe which won the Griffin Award in 2012.
