This Is The Kit is the alias of Indie-folk musician Kate Stables.
As well as the band she fronts, one which has carried Stables from Winchester to Poole to Paris (where she lived for the last 15 years), and across tours and festivals around the world, not to mention a prestigious Ivor Novello nomination.
In today’s fast-paced mid-apocalyptic world it can feel like a waste of time to speak about time at all. Why dwell on the past when we could just live in the present because the future won’t shut up about how bad it’s going to be?
Stables has been turning heads in all the right places since 2003: a long time favourite among BBC Radio 6 Music DJs. A first album Krülle Bol produced by John Parish (PJ Harvey), singles (Two Wooden Spoons) released by Rob da Bank’s label Sunday Best and a long-awaited second album on Dreamboat Records in 2010.
