Two of Sydney’s most loved powerhouse vocalists are hitting the road together this summer to present a stacked, double-headline show of modern, raw soul to fans in Sydney (Gadigal), Thirroul (Dharawal) and Melbourne (Naarm). With new bodies of work under their belt and 10-piece live shows at their peak, CINTA & Ella Haber are ready to deliver a night of immersive, captivating performances alongside Setwun & Fanático Records DJs (Syd), RARA ZULU & Julian Joseph (DJ) (Melb) and Ingrid Neilson (Thirroul) to bring the Sydney new soul sound to stages near and far. Off the back of her cult classic debut ‘Feel Good’ in 2021, celebrated with a sold out launch at Mary’s Underground and a sold out first press of 250 vinyl, CINTA is the embodiment of raw, genuine expression and songwriting, backed by a band committed to beautiful, high-quality composition. Inspired by the legacy of our soulful forebears - Aretha, Nina and Erykah to name a few - CINTA bridges the sound of modern soul with a recognisable heritage into the landscape of Australian contemporary music, with highlight performances including regular appearances at Strawberry Fields Festival (2022, 2023 and 2024), support for Winston Surfshirt at the Enmore Theatre, and for Obongjayar at the City Recital Hall. 2024 will see the release of CINTA’s sophomore record ‘Worth Control’, a compelling, raw showcase of Cinta’s powerful songwriting and authentic lyricism. The backing vocals are hot like the best summer nights while the horns blow that cool west-coast breeze, while the bottom end bumps harder than a key after midnight at a really good house-party.
A unique blend of alternative soul, jazz and heavy groove, Sydney/Eora songstress Ella Haber is well known for her ‘mesmerizing and magnificent’ voice (Amplify the Noise), emotionally resonant songwriting and years of experience on the stage. With her 2019 debut EP ‘Clay’ earning international and local acclaim, Ella has performed in the UK at We Out Here Festival, at Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce label showcase, and has since become an in-demand support act for esteemed internationals such as 70’s soul legends Cymande, Alfa Mist at the Sydney Opera House as well as local legends Surprise Chef and Ngaiire. In 2024 alone, Ella has released her much-anticipated sophomore EP ‘Moments Between Dreams' (co-produced with Yianni Adams and mixed by Grammy-nominated engineer Nick Herrera), sold out her hometown EP launch show at the Vanguard, and released her soul-drenched anthem of empowerment ‘Walk On’ as a single with production from Melbourne’s Frollen Music Library (Surprise Chef, Karate Boogaloo).
