About the Speaker
Shanna Burbank is going on her fifth year in beekeeping. Her beekeeping journey all started when she and her dad moved into a small acreage house that had some bee hives hiding in the corner of the property. She had three options: let them die, give them away or learn how to keep bees. She chose the third option and will be sharing with you some of the finer points of the Art and Science of beekeeping. Shanna is a member of the Treasure Valley Beekeeping Club, a Journey level beekeeper with Oregon State University Extension and she has had the thrill of being included in the Outdoor Idaho episode entitled, Beyond The Buzz. Currently she is employed by B.U.G.S. (Boise Urban Garden School) to tend and care for their apiary and teach children about the importance of honey bees, locally and globally.
