KCH is delighted to welcome back Third Coast Swing to the House. This time, they bring along three outstandingly talented friends who will join them in playing the best of the French & American Songbook: accordionist Dallas Vietty; clarinetist Chris Tabaczynski; and drummer Pete Siers. The concert will be a celebration of “Manouche” jazz, a style of jazz that originated in 1930s Paris and is characterized by its upbeat tempos, intricate guitar techniques, and spirited tone, often incorporating Romani musical influences. Inspiration will be drawn from the styles and repertoire of the famous French accordionist Gus Viseur, Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, swing master Charlie Christian, the vocals of Ella Fitzgerald, the clarinet style of Sydney Bechet with New Orleans-style percussion driving the rhythm. This Manouche Party is not to be missed!
