QUARTERBACK
Pop luminary Quinn Bates, AKA Quarterback, will turn on a dime from angelic to gritty before doubling back all over again. Born in British Columbia, Canada on the unceded territory of the Sylix, Okanagan First Nations, Quarterback is densely committed to the QTBIPOC community that he is a part of.
Although Quarterback is a passionate studio mogul, he thrives most onstage as being a multifaceted trained performer since the age of 10. Currently wrapping up his dance-pop forward debut album Hypersexual Heartbreak, with a Spring 2023 release date, the next level and stage of his artistry is top tier & a brand new experience you won’t wanna miss. With influences of R&B, house, dance, & hyperpop, Quarterback combines feminine angelic vocals with gritty distortion to find the perfect juxtaposition. If you like excitement, sex, gender-fuck, body positivity, queerness, innovative creatives, & heartfelt lyrics, then you will love Quarterback.

PRADO MONROE
Born in Vancouver, Canada on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations peoples. Of indigenous Metis decent, her mom hails from the North End of Winnipeg - Point Douglas. Meanwhile her father immigrated from Buenaventura, Colombia to Vancouver in the early 90s. Circa 2016, inspired by everything from Bjork, Whitney Houston, Nelly Furtado, Britney Spears, Crystal Waters - to the melodic trap sonics of Chief Keef, Azealia Banks and Kanye West.
Prado was gifted her first guitar and quickly started self-producing and releasing music on Soundcloud under the moniker of "Alienkanye" at a prolific pace. The singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer began leading pen to various artists; she was the contagious melodies behind various NY-based male internet rappers - further unearthing her love and disposition to wordplay and pop music, Prado learned to lead without fear using her unique sound and no-bullshit delivery.

ZULEYYMA
Zuleyma’s strong drive, style and passion originally started at age 18 on the All-Native Women’s basketball court. Excelling quickly she played alongside other women on some of the best high-power teams Canada could offer. You would think the fresh faced athlete was running around with boys or on the court, but normally - Zuleyma could be found in her high schools film room/department.
Inspired by Pop Culture, K-Pop, Wes Anderson and Dave La’Chapelle - Zuleyma began creating DIY film and photography projects, one notably being her self-produced and self-directed first real music video project: Winona Forever - Gazing (2019). The video has grown up to more than 40,000 views on Youtube and cemented Zuleyma as a young prodigy in the Vancouver music scene.
Zuleyma found a love for photography through established and underground events and collaborating with musicians on their musical ideas and digital visualizations. Local brands such as Joanna Keller Beautique reached out to Zuleyma in early 2019 for her colourful, majestic and cunty approach to “standard” beauty shoots.
Seeing a lack of accessible spaces for photographers and people of colour she founded Thotful Studios alongside her sister Prado Monroe in early 2018. Zuleyma is actively working to turn Thotful Studios located in Vancouver, BC into a collective advocating for the liberation and independence of Black, POC and LGBTQIA2S+ artists across Canada.

▪︎ We would like to gratefully acknowledge that the territory on which this event takes place is on the traditional, stolen, unceded land of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. We acknowledge the rich cultural history of the many peoples and rituals that have been affected by the ongoing process of dispossession and colonialism. We hold this understanding in our interactions and engagements with this land and its people.
≫ Accessibility ≪

▪︎ There are three multi-user, gender-inclusive bathrooms with stalls. One bathroom has a larger stall with its own sink and a grab bar (more details in the ‘Bathrooms’ section).

The only way into the VEC is up 27 wood stairs, 11″ deep, 6″ high. There are wooden 2.5” handrails 38” up the wall on each side of the staircase (54” apart, so not graspable on both sides at once.
