Ken Dorward joined vcfo as the Austin market's Managing Director to lend 25 years of experience building teams and profitability for startups and publicly-traded multinationals alike. Data-driven and action-oriented, he favors bold business strategies. He excels in building the sophisticated systems and processes to bring clarity to an enterprise’s finances and operations. Ken has worn many hats in his career, including CEO, COO, CFO, and Chief Growth Officer. He seeks to help grow and build organizations, nurture executives, and enable easier collaboration amidst complexity.
Ken is often called on to apply his experience in sports, media, digital advertising, and technology to reach new markets. He knows how to tell a story and get stakeholders invested whether they are sophisticated investors or newly-acquired leadership teams. In fact, while leading the creation of a new media startup, he was credited as a producer on an Emmy-nominated TV series.

Duncan Moseley is a Managing Director of the Center for Family Legacy, specializing in providing business owners with strategic relating to their business, personal, and family legacy goals. In this role, Duncan provides thoughtful and practical solutions to give owners comfort in moving forward with decisions on how to best support both their business and their family. He aims to assist business owners and their families in navigating the most complex financial, and oftentimes, emotional decisions related to business transitions, with the goal of creating generational wealth.
Duncan has over 25 years of experience working exclusively with business owners and ultra-high-net-worth families. He spent most of his legal career working at the Bowden Law Firm, a boutique Trusts and Estate Law Firm in Atlanta, Georgia. After practicing law for nearly a decade, he transitioned to a private wealth management firm, where he served as an owner, advisor and legal counsel before selling to a Private Equity Company. After selling out of his private wealth management firm, he joined Truist Wealth and has been providing guidance to strategic clients for the last thirteen years. Duncan lends his expertise in areas such as wealth transfer, estate tax, income tax, financial analysis, business succession and transition, business structure, executive compensation and family dynamics.
Duncan's education includes: JD,Mercer University School of Law; LLM,University of Miami, BS Finance,University of Georgia.
Duncan has a deep passion for helping business owners and their families prepare for and create generational family wealth while maintaining family harmony.
PANELIST
Howard concentrates his practice in corporation and securities law, with particular emphasis on representation of private emerging growth companies and public corporations in public and private financings (equity and debt), negotiation of acquisitions and mergers (involving both public and private companies), negotiation of venture capital transactions and advising clients on intellectual property protection (including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets) and the licensing of such rights. Mr. Nirken’s practice also includes: general corporate, business, and securities counseling to corporate and technology clients; preparation of stock options plans, shareholder agreements, non-competition agreements, employment agreements, software license agreements; and negotiation of various transactional agreements a company may face in its everyday ordinary course of business.
Mr. Nirken is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Law who teaches a class focused on transactional drafting.
Aaron has advised private equity and strategic clients since 2012 on key tax matters relating to M&A, dispositions, spin-offs, reorganizations, restructurings, joint ventures, and other domestic and international transactions. He has broad industry experience dealing with businesses across automotive and dealer services, communications and media, health care, life sciences, manufacturing and consumer products, professional services, real estate, retail, technology, and transportation and logistics. Prior to joining Moss Adams, Aaron spent over 9 years in New York City with a Big Four M&A tax practice.
